Kiza is an upscale restaurant and lounge located on the ground floor of emirates financial towers in DIFC. They promote Pan-African culture and we had such a fun evening here when I was invited here by Monica Kapila of Doindubai. To get into the African vibe we had we had authentic African clothes designed by Ntombi Couture. Personally, I just loved the African shirts that I was wearing, lovely bright colors and something I had not experienced before. We were also taught some African dance moves on famous songs from the region. We all had so much fun trying to shake a leg.
Kiza has some seriously good drinks and we were served both mocktails and cocktails. I had the passion fruit mojito and I pretty much loved the drink. We started our African food journey with some pepper meat soup and lentil soup and both were delicious. Next, we moved to the Mango salad which was a leafy salad with sliced mango and we had the Kele Wele, which basically is fried plantains with peanuts, another hit from the kitchen of Kiza.
The mains were also a stunning affair. We had Peri Peri Prawns, Mixed grilled platter but the dishes that stole my heart were Princess Kiza and Kenyan Githeri Stew. Princess Kiza was a beautifully baked and marinated sea bream which was served with a very nice garlic spicy sauce. The Kenyan Githeri Stew had a lot of beans and veggie and was complimented well by the jollof rice and kachumbari served as sides.
We also had some delicious desserts at Kiza, the Chocolate molten cake was all sorts of amazing. There was tropical fruit salad and pineapple upside down too for those who fancy a fruity dessert. If this doesn’t convince you then read on for the offers Kiza has to offer. Happy Hour every day from 4pm till 8 pm where many beverages are just half price. YES! that’s right! on weekends too. They also have a business lunch at AED 40 where you have vegetarian, meat and seafood options. I loved my African experience here at Kiza, when are you going?
