Over the years Japanese cuisine has become one of my favorites. I always look out for places that do justice to it. Earlier in the week, I tried out one of the most fun Japanese places in town, Sho Cho in Dubai marine resorts and spa. The resort is beautiful and Sho Cho has the best views. So, as usual, I reserved my table with my favorite table reservation app EAT and landed in Sho Cho on a Monday. Sho Cho has something or the other going on every day, we tried the Monday feast. The restaurant has chic interiors with seatings both inside and outside. As the weather is getting better now we chose the beautiful outdoors that’s got a lovely view.
So here’s the deal, AED 150 for the Monday feast with food and soft drinks, add AED 40 to upgrade it with a couple of house beverages. We opted for the one with alcohol and I enjoyed their cocktail of the day, just the right drink after a busy day at the office. So the Monday feast is an on table buffet and starts off with edamame and miso soup. Ok so let’s talk about my favorites here and I’m going to post the menu at the end of the write up just in case if you want to take a look.
Prawn spring roll with wasabi mayonnaise was quite easily the star of the appetizers. I also liked the Nasu miso which is grilled aubergine in miso sauce, delicious! My friend loved the seared tuna salad which was dressed with sesame oil. The calamari salad also deserves a mention. Moving on to our sushi platter, a selection of nigiri, sashimi and maki rolls was something every sushi lover would enjoy. Talking about the mains, we had an exquisite line up. The beef teriyaki, corn-fed chicken in yellow Chilli sauce and vegetable tempura. My pick was the chicken in yellow Chilli sauce. Apart from this we also ordered the black cod with miso sauce which was to die for, you guys must try this one. We also ordered for the rock shrimps tempura with sweet Chilli garlic sauce. Both of these are not included in the Monday feast but I would highly recommend you to try these.
For desserts, we had the Japanese yuzu cheesecake and chawan mushi, a creamy coconut pudding with fresh fruits. We loved both the desserts, to be frank, we loved everything here. There was nothing that was average or bad, everything was fresh and delicious. The service here is impeccable, Sho Cho really took very good care of us. I absolutely loved Sho Cho and I hope you guys will love it too.
